The Colfax Greek Bistro is a casual restaurant serving Greek and Mediterranean food.  Located one minute from I-80 in the historic downtown of Colfax, CA.  Patrons can sit back, relax, and enjoy great tasting ethnic food.  We offer a family-friendly cozy atmosphere, and have a small play area for the kids. You can find us midway between Reno and Sacramento, Exit #135, off Interstate 80.

The menu is Greek, Mediterranean, Vegetarian & Ethnic, and features Authentic Gyros, which are roasted right on the premises. The Greek salad is prepared fresh with Kalamata olives & Feta cheese. In addition, Dolmas & Falafels make the selection a 'haven' for vegetarians and the Tzatziki dips with pita chips complete the savory menu.

Turkish coffee and Baklava make a delicious combination for the end of your delectable meal.

Elan’s passion is to bring excellent Gryos and ethnic food to Colfax for locals, neighboring residents and Interstate 80 travelers.

The environment of the café is extremely enjoyable and a good place to relax whether you are a traveler in need of a respite or you are a local coming to enjoy dinner and LIVE music on Saturday night.

We tend to have the best music of Rock, Folk and Jazz as our Music & Events tab indicates.

We keep part time hours because my daughter Sophia and I feel that there is more to life than Main St., Colfax.

The Colfax Greek Bistro is open 4 days per week:

Thursday through Saturday 12 pm to 8 pm

Sunday 2 pm to 8 pm

Our objective is to provide an incredible experience by introducing you to a mixture of Mediterranean and Greek food.

The falafels are made in the Mediterranean way since Elan was a native Mediterranean. The authentic Gyros are made from meat roasted on the premises and are truly the Best In The West.

Sophia and I eat Gyros every chance that we get when we travel in the Sacramento valley, the San Francisco Bay Area and around the world.

"Oh my gosh....I love history....I love local businesses....I love ethnic food... this fits the bill. :) The owner, Elan, is so sweet and accommodating. She provides a diverse selection of both local and ethnic beers and wine, which you can casually sip while she prepares your meal. I love the authentic gyro as well as the spanikopita. Her tzatziki sauce is delightfully fresh and garlicky (so ya both gotta eat it). If you're in a hurry, call in and pre-order, but if you want to relax, this is the place.... she has couches to lounge on...a bar to hang out, and tables to eat at. But seriously, the gyro, in COLFAX, is a rarity, and to die for!!! I just wish she were open more days. This is also the place to have a special occasion....enough room for everyone. Her daughter, Sophia, is a delight, and in between her homework, she is wonderful addition to the bistro, helping her mom out. Also clean bathrooms and an art gallery, with Colfax history strewn throughout. Love it, love it, love it. :)"
